Accounts Payable Associate - Rocky View, AB
POSITION OVERVIEW
This position shall have the overall responsibilities for the activities of accounts payables, development and maintenance of customer files, maintain strong vendor payable relationships, and the balancing of cash flow. Other responsibilities will include the resolution of any invoice discrepancies, and reconciliation of Accounts Payable statements.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enter/Verify accuracy of Expense/Trade invoices & Employees claims daily
- Review & reconcile invoices/statements
- Address & respond to vendor inquiries
- Communicate to managers for purchase orders/return merchandise discrepancies
- Process immediate cheques
- Perform Cheque/EFT runs throughout the week for CAN & US vendors
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date to available discounts
- Segregate receiving documents into PO/packing slips & PO acknowledgement
- Scan & edit documents to Max Recall into their corresponding folders
- Assist with Office Administrator as needed
- Assist with Import Container Logistics
- Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in Accounts Payable preferred
- Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
- Subject to Criminal Background Checks and must have clean record
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Highly motivated individual who shows initiative and is focused on achieving results while contributing to a positive, can-do culture
- Highly organized with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with Vendor relations and the ability to handle multiple priorities
- Knowledge of basic Accounting functions & principles
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination for branch/office equipment
- Body motor skills sufficient to enable incumbent to move from customer location to another customer location or branch location
