Shipper Receiver - Edmonton, AB
POSITION OVERVIEW
The shipper receiver will increase operational efficiency and company profitability by accurately and timely processing the incoming and outgoing shipments. The shipper receiver will take on the responsibility to clearly identify and/or label all incoming/outgoing products.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Receiving
• Receive returns, count and confirm quantities, determine condition and complete paperwork;
• Receive and inspect inbound product according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);
• Organize & place product in correct location based on SOPs;
Shipping
• Obtain & prioritize orders and select products from the proper locations;
• Verify accuracy of orders picked, escalate concerns to Supervisor;
• Stage and securely pack product based on SOPs;
• Place the appropriate documentation with each order and ensure all cases are clearly labelled; and accurately marked (e.g., pick/pack slips, stickers);
• Palletize cases, wrap, and load pallets onto trailers;
Inventory
• Handle products and perform duties according to client procedures, SOP’s and government / compliance regulations;
• Create shipping labels and other paperwork for parcels and LTL skid shipments (e.g., waybills, shipping manifests, shipping labels); maintain accurate shipping data in warehouse management system;
• Utilize scanners to electronically scan barcodes for product management;
Inside Sales
• Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions
• Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes or returns
• Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items
• Obtain accurate information from vendors relating to shipment dates and expected date of delivery
• Proactively recommend items needed by the customer to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability
• Setup and maintain customer files
• Maintain proficiency in using computer, data entry terminal, other common office equipment and software
Other
• Ensure all equipment is in proper working order (e.g., conveyors, doors, docks and signal lights);
• Safely operate various power equipment including, but not limited to, pallet movers, forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers;
• Encourage safe work practices in others, communicate to Supervisor areas where safety training and enforcement is needed, and adhere to Health & Safety Program (HSP)
Initiatives;
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
• High School Diploma preferred

• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds on a regular basis (product).
• Ability to spend extended periods of time standing
• Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination for branch equipment
• Body motor skills sufficient to enable incumbent to move from customer location to another customer location or branch location
